The General Terms and Conditions (GTC) apply to all educational events (such as excursions, group events, school events and the like) organised by Gesäuse National Park GmbH (hereinafter referred to as NPG GmbH) or Naturschutz Akademie Steiermark (hereinafter referred to as NAS). Every registration is binding and subject to our cancellation conditions. By booking an event, the person making the booking agrees to the General Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.

Registration and participation guidelines

Unless otherwise stated, the registration deadline is seven days before the start of the course. In the event of an unexcused no-show on the first day of the course, the place may be given to another interested party. Registration and contact details will be archived by the Admont information office of NPG GmbH or NAS and used for internal analyses.

Booking

Bookings for educational events are confirmed in writing by the information office of NPG GmbH or NAS and are thus valid and binding; from this point onwards, the cancellation conditions apply. Exceptions to this are events without advance booking, in which participants can also take part without prior booking. In the event that a person takes over the booking for other persons (e.g. school classes or groups), this person is liable to NPG GmbH for the settlement of the invoice for all booked participants.

School events: As soon as the booking is signed by the teacher and returned to NPG GmbH, the booking (programme, number of participants etc.) is binding.

Terms of payment

The prices quoted are per person. Unless otherwise agreed, the invoice will be sent electronically to the e-mail address provided at the time of booking. The participation fee will be invoiced in advance after valid registration and is due at the latest at the start of the event. In the case of group events (e.g. book your guide, school events, etc.), the invoice will be issued after the event.

Liability

The instructions of the rangers or the event management must be followed at all events. Failure to do so, inappropriate behaviour or alcohol consumption may result in exclusion from the event. In this case, the fee will not be refunded. Claims for damages are excluded unless the damage was caused intentionally or through gross negligence on the part of NPG GmbH or NAS or a person for whom NPG GmbH or NAS is responsible. NPG GmbH accepts no liability for events organised by third-party providers as part of rafting or nature adventure trips or cave tours. From the time of the activity by the external provider, the liability for these activities lies with the external provider. We recommend taking out mountain cost insurance.

Dogs are not permitted at any event.

During school and group tours, teaching staff and other supervisors are not released from their supervisory duties. Parents are liable for their children. We recommend that schools or parents take out insurance for rescue costs.

jurisdiction: The competent court in Liezen.

Organisational changes and alternative dates

NPG GmbH and NAS reserve the right to change or cancel programmes at short notice for organisational reasons, in the event of adverse weather conditions or due to insufficient numbers of participants. If advertised events do not take place, there will be no costs for the participants. No claims for compensation can be made for events that have been changed or cancelled for weather or safety reasons. If weather conditions prevent an excursion, NPG GmbH can offer the customer one or more alternative dates.

Withdrawal and cancellation fees

Cancellation must be made exclusively in writing (e-mail, fax) to the information office of NPG GmbH or NAS. If cancellation fees are incurred by third parties - usually accommodation providers - as a result of the cancellation, NPG GmbH and NAS are entitled to pass these cancellation fees on to the customer.

For cancellations up to 12 days before the start of the event, a cancellation fee of 25 % of the participation fee will be charged. For cancellations up to 8 days before the start of the event, a cancellation fee of 50 % of the participation fee will be charged, thereafter 100 % of the participation fee will be due.

In the event of cancellation due to illness before the start of the trip/event, the cancellation fees will be suspended upon presentation of a medical certificate. In the event of cancellations for personal reasons or illness during the stay/event, the above-mentioned cancellation fees will be charged.

Resignation from one-day Events according to the event programme:

No cancellation fee will be charged for cancellations up to the registration deadline. Cancellations after the stated deadline will be charged a cancellation fee of 50 % of the participation fee. In the event of no-show or cancellation of the event by the participant, the entire participation fee (100 %) will be charged. If a substitute participant is nominated, the cancellation fee will be waived.
