The "Fokus" gallery at the National Park School of Photography in Admont will continue to be a hive of activity in 2024. The 2024 course programme has been presented; next year it includes no fewer than 54 photography workshops, eight exhibitions and the biennial discussion round "Nature Photography in Dialogue".
The "Animal and Nature Photographers of Austria" exhibition is currently on display at the Fokus Gallery until 26 January. This will be replaced in February by the works of the Nationalparks Austria media scholarships. Further exhibitions will then follow approximately every 2 months.
If you look at the annual calendar of the photo school, there is almost no weekend left empty. The Gesäuse National Park's photography programme has been constantly expanded in recent years and now covers all seasons and all areas of nature photography.
The night sky over the Gesäuse is a special experience - one of the darkest places in Austria away from "light pollution" allows unique observations and opportunities for Milky Way and star photography that are rarely found anywhere else in Central Europe! Special photography courses provide step-by-step instructions on how to skilfully capture the fascination of thousands of stars and distant galaxies with your own camera.
In October, Hieflau will be the focal point of the Austrian nature photography scene with Emma Wanderer's Campus ALPS. The discussion format "Nature Photography in Dialogue" will take place on the topic of "Nature Photography in the Age of Light Pollution". On the same weekend, Austria's wildlife and nature photographers will once again vote for the nature photographer of the year and present the winning images to the public.
So it's best not to pack your camera away for the whole year!
