Youth engagement in nature conservation sought
The Gesäuse National Park founded a youth advisory board with the support of Grazer Wechselseitige Versicherung or its youth brand "GRAWE sidebyside".
Behind the title "Youth Advisory Council" lies an innovative idea. The aim is to give young people the opportunity to initiate or implement small projects with their own budget. Through the cooperation with GRAWE, the young people have the opportunity not only to talk or plan, but also to do.
In the past years, numerous ideas have already been implemented by the Youth Advisory Council. Among other things, a children's book was designed, a photo competition was supported, summer care for children was offered, photo traps for the National Park lynx monitoring were purchased and biotope maintenance measures were organised. A variety of projects are planned for this year as well.
Ideas and new members are wanted for the Youth Advisory Council!
An idea generation workshop will take place from 24 - 25.9.2022 in the middle of the national park. "We are currently planning an exciting and interactive workshop for young adults who want to contribute their opinions in the field of nature conservation and research. We are looking forward to many participants from the National Park region," says Fabian Gruber, spokesperson of the Youth Advisory Council.
For all those from the region who want to shape conservation projects themselves and have a say and are between 15 and 29 years old - apply now to become a member of the Youth Advisory Council at:
