In the categories professionals, amateurs and pupils, the jury, consisting of nature photographers and representatives of the protected areas Kalkalpen National Park, Ges\u00e4use National Park and Wilderness Area D\u00fcrrenstein, will select the best photos. The competition covers the seasons autumn, winter and spring, when woodpeckers make attractive photo motifs. The \"National Park Radio\" is \"on air\" every Wednesday from 18:00 to 19:00.<\/p>\n<p>Andreas Hollinger is the presenter of most of the programmes. He introduces the broadcast concept as follows: \"We want to inform the people of the region about the only Styrian national park. What actually is a national park? What are its tasks and goals? What is implemented in concrete terms? How can locals get involved or benefit from its work? National Parks are not only centres of nature conservation, but also of nature and environmental education. So it is a particular pleasure for the Ges\u00e4use National Park to have been awarded the eco-label for its activities in this area.<\/p>\n<p>Federal Minister Berlakovich presented the eco-label at a ceremony at the Buchsteinhaus in August 2011. He emphasised the importance of the eco-label for the national parks as educational institutions and was pleased that the Ges\u00e4use National Park would also like to motivate the other Austrian national parks to obtain the eco-label.<\/p>\n<p>The eco-label is a guarantee for environmentally friendly products and services. It can be awarded in the areas of products (e.g. Wallig Ennstaler Druckerei und Verlag GmbH), tourism (e.g. M\u00f6dlinger H\u00fctte) and education. The eco-label for educational institutions has existed since 2007. Institutions that live sustainability and quality and work according to the principles of sustainable development can be awarded with it. At the time of the Ges\u00e4use National Park's award, only nine other institutions had received this distinction.<\/p>\n<p>Since November 2013, the Ges\u00e4use National Park has also been the first Austrian national park to become a Climate Alliance business. This award is a supplement to the eco-label, especially with regard to the commitment in the areas of climate protection and soft mobility. In addition to the continuously developed \"core business\" of nature conservation and nature and environmental education, intensive work is being done to expand climate-friendly mobility in the national park region.
