Am 13. August 2026 hie\u00df es beim Weidendom: Decken auspacken, Platz suchen und Film ab! YOUth FOR NATURE veranstaltete einen gem\u00fctlichen Kinoabend unter freiem Himmel und rund 90 Besucher:innen waren mit dabei. Bevor es mit dem Film losging, wurde es erstmal knifflig: Bei einem lustigen und spannenden Vogelquiz konnten alle ihr Wissen testen. Dann startete der Kinoabend mit dem Animationsfilm \u201eRaus aus dem Teich\u201c, der mit viel Humor, Abenteuer und einer sch\u00f6nen Botschaft f\u00fcr einen gelungenen Sommerabend sorgte.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"Kinoabend\"\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

Teamausflug zu den Kr\u00e4uterbergbauern<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Der Teamausflug f\u00fchrte YOUth FOR NATURE zu Sandra und Gerhard Stangl auf ihren BIO-Kr\u00e4uterbergbauernhof in Lainbach. Nach einer spannenden F\u00fchrung durch den vielf\u00e4ltigen Kr\u00e4utergarten half die Gruppe bei der Ernte und Verarbeitung verschiedener Kr\u00e4uter mit. Gemeinsam wurden au\u00dferdem k\u00f6stliche Kr\u00e4uterlaibchen zubereitet und verkoste. Audiologger Update<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Seit Sommer 2025 unterst\u00fctzt YOUth FOR NATURE gemeinsam mit dem Unternehmen OekoFor das akustische Monitoring im Nationalpark. Im Juni besuchten die beiden Wissenschaftler Dr. Hendrik Reers und Johanna Grimm, MSc das Ges\u00e4use, um die vier installierten Audiologger zu aktualisieren. Am 30. Mai 2026 wurde der neu errichtete Weidendom feierlich er\u00f6ffnet. Gemeinsam mit zahlreichen G\u00e4sten sowie Vertreterinnen und Vertretern aus Regional- und Landespolitik wurde dieser besondere Naturerlebnisort eingeweiht. Am 18. Mai verbrachten die zweiten Klassen der Volksschule Bad Aussee einen spannenden Halbtag mit YOUth FOR NATURE im Nationalpark. Beim Erlebniszentrum Weidendom entdeckten die Sch\u00fclerinnen und Sch\u00fcler die faszinierende Vielfalt der Wiesenlebewesen, gestalteten kreative Naturkunstwerke und erkundeten bei abwechslungsreichen Spielen die Erlebnisstationen rund um den Weidendom.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\u00a9\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

Am 8. Mai wurde im Schloss Kassegg die Wanderausstellung zum 10-j\u00e4hrigen Jubil\u00e4um von \u201eMit liab s\u00f6wa gmocht\u201c<\/strong> von Doris Remschak feierlich er\u00f6ffnet. In Kooperation mit YOUth FOR NATURE entstand eine abwechslungsreiche und mit viel Liebe zum Detail gestaltete Ausstellung, die Kreativit\u00e4t, traditionelles Handwerk und Nachhaltigkeit auf besondere Weise miteinander verbindet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\u00a9\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

Nachhaltigkeit zum Anziehen<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Am 24. April organisierte YOUth FOR NATURE erneut einen Kleidertausch, dieses Mal in der Mehrzweckhalle in Weng. Wie schon in den vergangenen Jahren stand dabei nicht nur der nachhaltige Austausch von Kleidung im Mittelpunkt, sondern auch das gem\u00fctliche Beisammensein mit vielen netten Gespr\u00e4chen. F\u00fcr zus\u00e4tzliche Genussmomente sorgte ein leckeres Buffet aus dem Bauernladen Irdning. Die \u00fcbrig gebliebenen Kleidungsst\u00fccke wurden im Anschluss an die Caritas-Stelle Carla in Admont gespendet, ein gelungenes Beispiel daf\u00fcr, wie Nachhaltigkeit und Gemeinschaft Hand in Hand gehen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"Nationalpark\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

Auch heuer waren wir wieder mit einem Stand beim Nationalpark Adventmarkt in Gstatterboden vertreten. Wie schon im letzten Jahr hatten wir ein kleines R\u00e4tsel vorbereitet \u2013 als Belohnung wartete vom Kr\u00e4uterbergbauern ein St\u00fcck k\u00f6stliches Apfelbrot oder ein Stamperl w\u00e4rmender Schnaps auf die Teilnehmer:innen. Unser diesj\u00e4hriger Team-AusFLUG hatte es in sich! Nach einem wunderbaren und st\u00e4rkenden Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck im Bauernladen Goschnhof in Irdning ging es f\u00fcr uns hoch hinaus. Unser Ziel: die Zipline Stoderzinken in Gr\u00f6bming.<\/p>\n

Zum Gl\u00fcck fassten alle Mut und wagten den Sprung \u2013 belohnt wurden wir mit einem atemberaubenden Ausblick und einem ordentlichen Adrenalinkick. Um wieder etwas zur Ruhe zu kommen, lie\u00dfen wir den Tag bei einer gem\u00fctlichen Runde Minigolf und einem k\u00f6stlichen Abendessen ausklingen. Als Dankesch\u00f6n f\u00fcr den gro\u00dfartigen Einsatz beim Xeisputz lud YOUth FOR NATURE alle flei\u00dfigen Helferinnen und Helfer auch heuer wieder zu einer gem\u00fctlichen Grillerei ein. Bei Veggie-W\u00fcrstel, Getr\u00e4nken und guter Stimmung wurde gemeinsam auf die erfolgreiche M\u00fcllsammelaktion zur\u00fcckgeblickt. KINO BEIM WEIDENDOM<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Jeden Sommer im Juli und August findet einmal w\u00f6chentlich ein Kino unterm Sternenhimmel bei unserem Nationalpark Erlebnistzentrum Weidendom statt. Dieses Jahr gab es eine Premiere: zum ersten Mal durfte YOUth FOR NATURE einen Film ausw\u00e4hlen! Die Filmauswahl traf dabei den Geschmack der Besucherinnen, denn 70 Leute kamen um sich „Into the Wild“ anzusehen und den lauen Sommerabend inmitten des Nationalparks zu genie\u00dfen.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"Into\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

AKUSTISCHES MONITORINGPROJEKT GESTARTET<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

YOUth FOR NATURE startete ein dreij\u00e4hriges akustisches Monitoringprojekt im Nationalpark, um kontinuierlich und nicht-invasiv Daten \u00fcber die Tierwelt zu sammeln. Das Herzst\u00fcck bildet die ecoPi-Technologie \u2013 solar betriebene Aufnahmeger\u00e4te, die Tierger\u00e4usche automatisch erfassen und per KI-gest\u00fctzter App in Echtzeit identifizieren. Nach dem offiziellen Projektstart Ende Juni 2025 sind seit August vier ecoPi-Ger\u00e4te \u00fcber den gesamten Nationalpark verteilt. Diese moderne Methode erm\u00f6glicht es, Artenvielfalt, Populationsdynamiken und Verhaltensweisen ohne st\u00f6renden menschlichen Pr\u00e4senz zu \u00fcberwachen. Die gesammelten akustischen Daten sollen f\u00fcr wissenschaftliche Arbeiten und Naturvermittlung genutzt werden.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"akustisches\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

Auch heuer durften sich die Sch\u00fclerinnen und Sch\u00fcler der 4. Klassen der VS Liezen \u00fcber eine besondere Einladung freuen: Ein spannender Nationalpark-Tag im Erlebniszentrum Weidendom erwartete sie. Dort konnten die Kinder die Vielfalt des Lebensraums Wald hautnah entdecken, ihre Sinne sch\u00e4rfen und ganz nebenbei viel Wissenswertes lernen. Nat\u00fcrlich kam der Spa\u00dffaktor auch nicht zu kurz. Mit besonderer Freude blicken wir auf den 27. Mai zur\u00fcck, wo wir mit dem 3. Platz des Biodiversit\u00e4tspreises \u201eSilberdistel\u201c des Landes Steiermark ausgezeichnet wurden. Am 16.3. veranstalteten wir erneut einen erfolgreichen Kleidertausch im Volkshaus Admont. Nach der positiven Resonanz im vergangenen Jahr freuten wir uns besonders, dass dieses Mal rund 90 Personen die M\u00f6glichkeit nutzten, ihren Kleiderschrank nachhaltig zu erneuern oder auszumisten!<\/p>\n

Bei k\u00f6stlichen regionalen Spezialit\u00e4ten vom Buffet entstanden inspirierende Gespr\u00e4che \u00fcber weitere Wege, umweltbewussten Konsum zu f\u00f6rdern und im Alltag umzusetzen. This year we were delighted to see the return of the Advent market in the National Park. We had our own stand in picturesque Gstatterboden and were able to engage in dialogue with guests. Anyone who also guessed our quiz about the Ges\u00e4use mountains or the correct objects at our touch station could look forward to fresh apple bread or a warming schnapps from the Kr\u00e4uterberg farmers. We would like to thank the Stangls once again for this. After the films, there were exciting discussions with invited experts. The event took place in the seminar room of the Admont Mountain Rescue Service, to whom we would like to express our sincere thanks. Films were shown on the topics of activism, hydropower & river damming and the climate crisis & melting ice. From 11 March to 16 March, our team was invited to the M\u00fcritz National Park in Germany. Together with members and mentors from other European protected areas, we took part in a workshop organised by the Europarc Federation. At the end of October, our team spent a weekend in the Waldviertel. On Saturday, we visited the Heidenreichsteiner Moor Nature Park. The highlights were the observation of a pygmy owl and two white-tailed eagles as well as a short barefoot walk on the moor. We then travelled on to our accommodation in Hardegg, the smallest town in Austria. In the evening, a wildcat tour awaited us in the Thayatal National Park. On Sunday, we went on a guided hike through the national park and were able to gain an insight into the species-rich fauna and flora of the national park. YOUth FOR NATURE has decided to organise and finance a trip to the Ges\u00e4use National Park for the 4th grade of VS Liezen. The aim was to give all children the opportunity to go on a trip into the countryside and enjoy an outdoor activity. At the beginning of July, 66 pupils came to the Weidendom National Park Adventure Centre and were able to get to know the fauna and flora of the national park in small groups and become explorers themselves. YOUth FOR NATURE is very proud of the sandpiper folder that was published in spring. As a flagship species, this small wading bird has a special significance in the National Park. After all, it has the largest breeding population in Styria! The folder was designed in a particularly creative way to inform all visitors to the national park about this rare bird. The course of the year in the life of a sandpiper was depicted as a comic.

The \"Jugendbeirat\" starts 2023 with many new projects, new members and some changes. One major change concerns our name. Together it was decided to set \"YOUth FOR NATURE\" as the new name. Due to the Corona pandemic, many children have been unable to participate in any or few outdoor events over the past two years. For the most part, gym classes or participation in sporting events was also not possible. In discussions with educators, the lack of physical activity among children during the Corona pandemic was a recurring theme. The Youth Advisory Council decided to address this issue and to help the partner kindergarten and the partner elementary school in Admont with exercise-promoting teaching materials.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

Tick monitoring<\/h3>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

At the end of October 2020, the first tick monitoring in the Ges\u00e4use National Park was launched and supported by the Youth Advisory Council. For this, 9 sites at different altitudes and exposures were sampled for ticks. In total, 197 passes were made and 422 ticks were collected. In addition, data on weather, time of day, temperature, and humidity were collected at ground level and at 130 cm. The sampling was carried out by interns and rangers of the National Park and ended in October 2021. The ticks were then sent to AGES for determination. In addition, the distribution of tick species related to season and altitude will be evaluated.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

Already in 2017 to 2019, a project on photography and identification of endemic insects and arachnids was supported by the GRAWE sidebyside Youth Advisory Council. This year, the focus was on the creative implementation and communication of the topic \"endemics\". The result is a coloring book with endemic species from the Ges\u00e4use, enriched with little knowledge bites. Each species is presented with an ability that distinguishes it from others. The coloring book is intended to serve as a tool for nature and environmental education staff when teaching children about nature.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\"\"\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t<\/section>\n\n\n

With this book, the photos of the photo traps that are set up in the Ges\u00e4use National Park should no longer remain closed to children and parents. The photo traps help to find out how the animals of our forest behave when they feel unobserved. With the story \"The whole forest is looking for TheREHsa\", the theme of safety is brought to the fore and the book also aims to raise awareness of environmental protection. For several years now, lynx from the neighbouring Kalkalpen National Park have been regularly spotted in Ges\u00e4use National Park. The presence of the cat is confirmed by means of photo traps and individual specimen have even been identified. Besides these shy felines, other animals are also captured on photos. It remains to be seen which pictures will be taken there.

In the summer of 2017, the Youth Advisory Council organized a campaign on neophyte management.
\nYoung people from the Admont Refugee Home assisted in repressing invasive species for one day.
