Dydd da Cymru! (Good day Wales)<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Junior Rangers from Ges\u00e4use National Park on a big trip to Wales!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Last week, three junior rangers from the Ges\u00e4use National Park attended the International Junior Ranger Camp in Wales. Melina Hornhofer, Eva Rosa Hackl and Anna Gro\u00dfschartner were officially authorised to represent the National Park and had to prove their weather resistance.<\/p>\n

The EUROPARC organisation has been organising the International Junior Ranger Camp for 20 years, which this year took place in the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley nature reserve in north-east Wales. This camp is organised to give young people who are involved in nature reserves the opportunity to exchange ideas and spend a great week together. For the first time, a group from Austria, from the Ges\u00e4use National Park, also took part.<\/p>\n

Together with young people from 11 different countries, they spent an eventful week in which they got involved in nature conservation and made new friends.<\/p>\n

The week was full of programmes to get to know the nature and culture of Wales. The highlight was certainly the trip to Snowdonia National Park (Welsh: Eryri) in typical English weather, including a hike to the foot of the highest mountain in Wales and England.<\/p>\n

Presentations were also given on the respective protected areas in order to familiarise the young people from the other countries with the special features of the respective areas.<\/p>\n

They also helped out diligently with the daily work in the nature reserve, for example building stone walls and collecting rubbish from paths.<\/p>\n

At the end of this eventful week, the Junior Rangers received certificates and sang together around the campfire.<\/p>\n

There was not a dry eye in the house when they said goodbye and everyone was sure that they would not forget this week in a hurry.<\/p>\n
