The Ges\u00e4use National Park looks back on a successful ski touring season.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

How can a ski touring season in the National Park be successful, National Park Director Herbert W\u00f6lger was asked. \"For us, the winter season is successful when there are few accidents, but above all when our control measures are accepted and have an effect. This winter was snowy throughout. Wild animals are challenged to get through in one piece. For example, grouse get snowed in during heavy snowfall, so it is important that there are areas where they can rest. We are extremely pleased that the consideration of our guests has worked so well again this year.\"<\/p>\n

\"I would like to thank all ski tourers! Through your help you have made a great contribution to our wildlife!\" National Park Director Herbert W\u00f6lger<\/strong><\/p>\n

The winter resting areas for grouse marked along the official ski tours are well respected. In other parts of the national park, away from the designated routes, there are concerns about increasing visitor pressure. The publication of some \"insider tips\" in social media and on the internet is viewed particularly critically. \"We expressly point out that nature conservation is a serious task. Such publications are very problematic and counterproductive, because visitors are guided into sensitive quiet areas. In the end, no one, not even the national park administration, wants to have to close routes, as is possible under \u00a79 of the national park ordinance,\" W\u00f6lger concludes.<\/p>\n

Marcellus Schreilechner, chairman of the Styrian Mountain Guides Association, says: \"The task of us mountain guides is to offer our guests the highest level of safety and experience. This also includes the good conscience of having shown consideration for nature. It goes without saying that we support sensible steering measures and explain the background to our guests. Our competence includes broad knowledge about the interrelationships in nature\".<\/p>\n
