Cinemas under the stars in the National Park<\/strong><\/p>\n

Stars and rather unknowns in \"Ges\u00e4use surround<\/strong><\/p>\n

Since 2014, the Ges\u00e4use National Park has been showing special films against a magnificent backdrop. This year, for the 8th time, there will be cinema films every Thursday in July and August in the Ges\u00e4use National Park.<\/p>\n

\"At the latest when the Hochtor group glows red in the last rays of the sun, the nearby Enns gurgles and a magnificent and exotic Central Asian landscape flickers across the screen, it is clear that you are sitting in what must be an extraordinary summer cinema,\" enthuses National Park Director Herbert W\u00f6lger. The Ges\u00e4use is one of the darkest places in Austria, so there is probably no cinema under more stars anywhere in this country. But there is only time for stargazing after the main evening programme.<\/p>\n

What films are waiting this year? The programme is a colourful mix. Kurosawa's film version of the story of the hunter Dersu Usala is on the agenda, as is Robert Redford's Picknik with Bears. But Austrian film is not neglected either. In \"Elfie Semotan, Photographer\" Joerg Burger portrays a grand dame of Austrian photography. Semotan is currently the subject of a retrospective worth seeing at the Kunsthaus Wien. Finally, it has to be - as always - a film with a regional connection. This time a crime thriller filmed in Radmer will close the round. Of course, a crime will be committed, but nothing is revealed about guilt or innocence.<\/p>\n
