How to get here

How do you get to the Gesäuse National Park?

Anyone who visits a national park should take plenty of time... time to look, marvel, observe and time to let nature take its effect on you. The best way to do this is afoot, by bicycle or by public transport.

We are of course aware that the most comfortable and fastest means of transport of our time is still one's own car. However, we ask our visitors to first check out the possibilities of public transport and soft mobility and to leave their own cars behind as often as possible...

The most athletic, environmentally friendly and traditional way to visit the Gesäuse National Park!
Ennsradweg (R7): The 4th stage of the Enns Cycle Path takes guests through the Gesäuse National Park and on to the Steirische Eisenwurzen Nature and Geopark. Mountain bikes and e-bikes can be rented at Sport Shop Pörl in Admont.

Arrived in the Gesaeuse - the Gesaeuse shared taxi makes you mobile in the Gesaeuse National Park! One call to +43 3613 21 000 99 is all it takes and within the operating hours (May, June, October Fr-Sun and public holidays 8am-8pm; July, August, September 08:00am-8pm daily; last ride order 7pm each day) you can get to any destination in the Gesäuse National Park from May to October, without any timetable or stops!

by rail

Traffic information Styria

By rail - the most environmentally friendly way to get to Gesäuse On weekends and public holidays, trains run twice a day from Vienna via the Westbahn line directly to the Gesäuse and back again. During the week the nearest train stations are in Kleinreifling, Weißenbach an der Enns, Selzthal or Liezen. For an additional charge, it is possible to be picked up by the Gesäuse Sammeltaxi (link to Gesäuse shared cab). Public buses also run at regular intervals between the stations, bringing you safely and quickly to the Gesäuse! busbahnbim.at

By car

If you have decided to visit the National Park by car, you can still choose to have a relaxed, car-free vacation on site! From the Forstgarten campsite in Gstatterboden you can reach four alpine huts without a car! In general, the Gesäuse Sammeltaxi takes you to all destinations in the National Park and public buses run regularly! Camping is only allowed at the Forstgarten campsite, contact: +43 664 82 52 323. If the campsite is fully booked, you can use the caravan site at the Hartelsgraben parking lot .
